This month our theme was ‘Beautiful Ugly’. The challenge was to photograph things that are not pretty at all – and to MAKE them pretty!
With all the recent rain and crazy weather we have had in the UK our garden has gone a bit mad, and the weeds are thriving. I decided to embrace those ugly weeds and try to make them pretty 🙂 I don’t own a macro lens…. yet….. so I used my 50mm 1.4 with macro extension tubes for these.

I think these particular weeds are pretty, but I think your capture of them definitely makes them even prettier and shows off their beautiful details! Love the last shot especially. Great work!
These are my favorite weeds 🙂 You’ve captured them beautifully! I love the texture and tone in the last shot most of all, great job 🙂
Wonderful job! so delicate and soft looking 🙂 I’d love to know about the macro extension tubes!

Great job without a macro!!! Love these images, all the detail and I just love the black and white!
Pretty and ethereal weeds!
Beautiful Claire! I love the detail that you captured.
Claire, I happen to think that dandelions are one of the most beautiful creations on earth. These are gorgeous and you rocked your extension tubes! Great work!
